What we know
- Adlan Umarov has signed with ONE Championship to compete at featherweight in MMA
- Umarov, 23, is 4-0 as a professional with all four wins by finish
- Umarov's last three wins all came by rear-naked choke
- Umarov stands 5-foot-9 with a 71.3-inch reach
- No opponent or date has been announced for Umarov's ONE debut
ONE Championship has added Adlan Umarov to its featherweight MMA roster, bringing in a Kazakh prospect who has never needed the judges as a professional.
ONE frames him as a wrestler first: he takes opponents down, holds them under heavy top pressure and ground-and-pound, then hunts for the submission when they scramble. The promotion says he can also finish fights standing, and calls his 5-foot-9 frame and 71.3-inch reach imposing for the weight class.
The promotion places him in a new generation of Kazakh fighters following former ONE Flyweight MMA World Champion Kairat Akhmetov. He arrives in a division ruled by ONE Featherweight MMA World Champion Tang Kai, and ONE says news of his promotional debut will follow.
