Former Czech football international Martin Fenin spoke about a three-month stay in a treatment facility in a pre-fight interview for CLASH MMA, MMAmag.cz reports. Fenin, 39, makes his MMA debut on Oct. 24 at CLASH 17 in Usti nad Labem, facing Martin Kocian at 84 kg.
Fenin compared the stay to taking a car in for maintenance. "I call it a service. Every car has to go in for a service" (translated), he said. He said former national teammates Milan Baros and Tomas Ujfalusi arranged it, adding it was more about resting and figuring out how things work.
Kocian, 49, holds a 2-2 MMA record. At an earlier press conference, cited by Centrum.cz, Fenin proposed a bet that the winner would enter treatment paid for by the loser, which Kocian rejected. MMAmag.cz found no such condition in the public bout listing. Fenin previously prepared for a fight with Kevin Pannewitz in OKTAGON MMA that never happened.
